Physical
Therapy –
A custom program will be designed based on the results
of standardized tests for each patient by the Physical
Therapists. The program may include modalities to
reduce pain and inflammation, increase muscle strength,
joint flexibility, and motion, increase muscular
endurance, improve function, perform vocational
training, work hardening, and sensory integration.
Once goals are attained or a patient has achieved
maximal medical improvement a home program will
be constructed for the patient to mainatin their
progress.
Occupational
Therapy–
Therapy will provide education and assistance for
facilitative development, improve adaptaive skills,
increase perfomance capacity, assist and educate
patients to properly perform activities of daily
living (ex. dressing, bathing, grooming) and with
energy conservation techniques. Occupational therapists
very often specialize in the upper extremity specifically
the hand, and may perform rehabilitative procedures
and create custom fabricated appliances such as
splints and braces to eliminate pain and facilitate
recovery.
